#TBT. Screen cap of Aaron in the first episode of THE CW tv series HELLCATS (1×01: A World Full of Strangers). Aaron played Bill Marsh, the head of Lancer University’s athletic department. This episode aired 5 years ago on September 8, 2010.
HELLCATS: picked up for a full season
Yay. More Aaron on our television screens. HELLCATS has been picked up for a full season.
Breaking: The CW orders full seasons of ‘One Tree Hill,’ ‘Nikita,’ and ‘Hellcats’
By: Michael Ausiello
Date: October 22nd, 2010The pickup baton has been passed to The CW: The network has given full-season orders to rookie dramas Nikita and Hellcats, as well as venerable soap One Tree Hill.
Season to date, Hellcats has averaged 2.5 million viewers, a dramatic improvement over last season’s insta-flop A Beautiful Life. Nikita, meanwhile, stands as The CW’s second most-watched show with 3.6 million viewers – although a large chunk of that audience falls outside the net’s core 18-34 demo (hence the mini-revamp under way).
Conspicuously missing from The CW’s pickup list: Life Unexpected. The sophomore drama did, however, receive an additional script order. In other words, there’s still hope.

CW pick ups: ‘Hellcats,’ ‘Nikita,’ ‘One Tree’
By: James Hibberd
Date: October 22nd, 2010The CW is giving full-season orders to freshman dramas Hellcats and Nikita, along with veteran One Tree Hill.
Hellcats has been paired with America’s Next Top Model on Wednesday nights, averaging 2.5 million viewers. Nikita has been matched with Vampire Diaries on Thursdays pulling 3.6 million viewers. Both have been more or less steady in recent weeks.
Absent from the list: Life Unexpected, which has been struggling paired with the eighth season of One Tree Hill on Tuesday nights. CW has picked up a couple scripts for the show, however.
“This fall, The CW made several strategic scheduling moves, including adding two of the most buzzed-about new series, ‘Hellcats’ and ‘Nikita,’ to our line-up, and we’re thrilled that they’ve paid off for us,” said CW entertainment president Dawn Ostroff. “By giving our two freshman series and proven performer ‘One Tree Hill’ full orders, we’ll be able to continue our success and momentum throughout the rest of the season.”

Just a reminder that HELLCATS airs tonight (Wed Oct 6th, 2010) in the USA and CANADA (9/8C). I know it’s really frustrating not knowing which episode Aaron is going to be in but the casting sides for episode 5 have his character in it, so hopefully he’ll be in tonight’s episode. As always, could someone please watch for Aaron’s name in the opening credits and leave a comment to let us know if he was in the episode or not. Thanks :)

HELLCATS: 1×04: Nobody Loves Me But My Mother (airing tonight)
Just a reminder that HELLCATS airs tonight (Wed Sept 29th, 2010) in the USA and CANADA (9/8C). Again, I have no idea if Aaron is in the episode or not. But after two weeks without him, fingers crossed he gets some screen time tonight. I know that Hellcats is “not my cup of tea” for some people, but could someone please at least watch the opening credits (looking for Aaron’s name) and leave a comment to let us know if he was in the episode or not.

HELLCATS: 1×03: Beale St. After Dark (airing tonight)
Just a reminder that HELLCATS airs tonight (Wed Sept 22nd) in the USA and CANADA (9/8C). Again, I have no idea if Aaron is in the episode or not. I spoke to him yesterday afternoon about it and even he doesn’t know which episodes his scenes are in. So we’ll just have to continue to play “spot Aaron”. If someone watches the episode tonight please leave a comment to let us know if Aaron was in the episode or not. If not, I’ll post a comment when I watch it tomorrow.
The trailer for the episode….
Episode Synopsis: Savannah (Ashley Tisdale) is nervous about her first date with Dan (Matt Barr) so Marti (Aly Michalka), Lewis (Robbie Jones) and the rest of the Hellcats team accompany her on their date which ends in disaster. Desperate to get her spot back, Alice (Heather Hemmens) turns to pills to kill the pain so she can get medically approved to re-join the team. Vanessa (Sharon Leal) decides to come clean with Derrick (DB Woodside) about her affair with Red (Jeff Hephner). Bethany Rooney directed the episode with story by Kevin Murphy and teleplay by Kevin Murphy & Peter Calloway.
Update: Aaron wasn’t in this week’s episode but his character did get a mention and we now have confirmation that his full name is BILL MARSH. His name is said at time stamp 00:49 in the scene below.
HELLCATS: 1×02: I Say a Little Prayer (airing tonight)
Just a reminder that HELLCATS airs tonight (Wed Sept 15th, 2010) in the USA and CANADA (9/8C). I have no idea if Aaron is in the episode or not. His scene in the casting sides for episode 1×02 was the scene that was in the pilot episode. He’s not in episodes 3 and 4. But I’m not sure if maybe the numbering is now messed up and eps 3 and 4 is really eps 2 and 3. Can someone please play ‘spot Aaron’ and leave a comment and let us know if he’s in the episode or not?
The trailer for the episode….
HELLCATS: Series Premier tonight (Wednesday September 8th, 2010)
Just a reminder that the series premier of HELLCATS airs tonight (Wed, Sept 8th, 2010) at 9/8c on the CW in the USA.
In Canada it premieres tonight (Sept 8th) at 9pm ET on /A\ and on Friday (Sept 10th) at 8pm ET on MuchMusic. It also airs at 10pm AT on /A\ Atlantic and 8pm MT on ACCESS. In Australia, Hellcats premieres on Monday, Sept 13th at 7.30pm on the GO! channel. Sorry, I don’t know when it is premiering in other countries. If you know, leave a comment and I’ll edit this post and add it in.
Aaron plays William ‘Bill’ Marsh. Bill is the head of the Lancer University’s athletic department.
I know that Aaron is in the 2nd episode of Hellcats but I don’t know if he is in the pilot episode (it was filmed before he joined the cast). An article on ‘examiner.com’ says he is not in the pilot episode … “Also, while not introduced in the first episode, the series will feature Gale Harold, Aaron Douglas, and D.B. Woodside”. But an article on ‘Cinema Blend’ says he is in it … “Random side-note: Fans of Battlestar Galactica who might somehow also take an interest in this show (I did, so there have to be a few others out there), will recognize Aaron Douglas (Chief Tyrol in BSG) as Bill. And for Buffy the Vampire Slayer and/or 24 fans, D.B. Woodside (Principal Wood/Wayne Palmer) is also among Hellcats’ cast. Spoiler alert: Neither of them cheer (at least not in the first episode).” I suspect that maybe Aaron filmed a scene(s) when he was filming the 2nd episode and that was slotted into the already filmed pilot episode (????).
You guys in the USA and Canada will get to watch the episode before I do (I’m in Australia). Can someone please leave a comment and let me know if Aaron is in the pilot episode or not? Or I could just ask him about it. But that takes the fun out of playing ‘spot Aaron’ :)
UPDATE: Aaron is in the episode. The A.V. Club did a review of the pilot episode and wrote … “Aaron Douglas shows up in a small part halfway through the episode”.
HELLCATS – Episode Synopsis – 1×01: A World Full of Strangers – Marti Perkins (Alyson Michalka), a law student at Lancer University, discovers that her scholarship has been cancelled and her well-meaning but irresponsible mother, Wanda (Gail O’Grady) has neglected to inform her. Broke and out of options, Marti realizes the only way she can stay in school is to win a place on the Hellcats – Lancer’s legendary cheer squad – and the scholarship that comes with it. Despite a confrontation with the Hellcats peppy team captain, Savannah (Ashley Tisdale), Marti wins over coach Vanessa Lodge (Sharon Leal), makes the squad and is thrust into a competitive world unlike anything she has ever known. With her best friend Dan (Matt Barr) by her side, Marti navigates her new world as a cheerleader and Savannah’s new roommate, while trying to avoid any interaction with squad member Alice Verdura (Heather Hemmens), who is instantly jealous when she realizes that Marti has caught the eye of Alice’s ex-boyfriend Lewis Flynn (Robbie Jones). Allan Arkush directed the episode written by Kevin Murphy.
HELLCATS: Name change for Aaron’s character
It looks like Bill Curran (Aaron’s character on HELLCATS) has be renamed to William “Bill” Marsh.
On July 22nd we got the exclusive from Aaron that he would be playing Bill Curran on HELLCATS. Pedda found on wiki that “Bill Curran is the head of the Lancer University’s athletic department”. http://aarondouglasfans.com/?p=13079
The following day I posted the casting sides that I found online for “Bill”.
http://aarondouglasfans.com/?p=13096
A couple of weeks ago Aaron told me that his character on Hellcats was ‘William Marsh’. I didn’t post the news as I was waiting for him to respond to my “huh, I thought your character was Bill Curran, did they change his name?” question. In the ‘Chicagoist’ interview with Aaron he says that his character is “Bill Curran, head of athletics for a university”. When I saw that I thought to myself “oh, so it is Bill Curran, not Bill Marsh”. The interview was posted online on August 17th but I don’t know when it was actually conducted. http://aarondouglasfans.com/?p=2058
Today when I was looking at the Hellcats casting sides I found one dated August 10th for a character called “William ‘Bill’ Marsh”. Part of it reads “INT. OFFICE OF THE HEAD OF ATHLETICS” and then it goes into a scene with “Bill” in his office on the phone. Sounds like ‘Bill Curran’ and ‘Bill Marsh’ are the same character. You can read the casting sides (3 pages) below.
UPDATE (1): Just spoke with Aaron and he has confirmed that his character on Hellcats is called Bill Marsh.
UPDATE (2) Sept 22nd: In the episode 1×03: Beale St. After Dark Vanessa Lodge talks about Aaron’s character, calling him Bill Marsh. His name is said at time stamp 00:49 in the scene below.
HELLCATS: Bill Curran – Casting Sides
I found the ‘casting sides’ for Bill Curran (Aaron’s character in HELLCATS). Consider these spoilers because I assume they are pages from the actual script.
I’ve highlighted Bill’s parts in yellow. Bill isn’t in it after the 3rd page but I posted the other two pages so you could read the whole scene.
The series premiere of HELLCATS is on Wednesday, September 8th 9/8c on THE CW.
