A CLÜSTERFÜNKE CHRISTMAS: Trailer

Yay! We finally have a trailer for A CLÜSTERFÜNKE CHRISTMAS which is airing on December 4 at 7pm et/pt on Comedy Central. Aaron isn’t in the trailer but I promise, he’s in the movie. He plays Cornelius Windmere, Holly’s boss.

Synopsis: A Clüsterfünke Christmas is a celebratory parody of the traditional TV holiday romance that follows Holly (Lovell), a go-getter real estate exec from New York City who heads to a small town to buy the quaint Clüsterfünke Inn and transform it into a mega-resort. First, she must convince the inn’s spinster owners (Gasteyer and Dratch) to make the sale. But before she can, she meets their nephew Frank (Jackson), a hot hunk of smoldering woodsman. Will she go back to her fast-paced city life, or will she fall in love with Frank and find the spirit of Christmas? What will she do? What. Will. She. Do… A Clüsterfünke Christmas is a festive cocktail of holiday movie tropes, dripping with sappy syrup and a twist of sexy lumberjack.

A CLÜSTERFÜNKE CHRISTMAS: Movie Poster

Here is the movie poster for A CLÜSTERFÜNKE CHRISTMAS which is airing on December 4 at 7pm on Comedy Central. The movie is a parody of the classic Hallmark holiday movie genre. It stars Vella Lovell, Cheyenne Jackson, Rachel Dratch & Ana Gasteyer. Aaron plays Cornelius Windmere, an energetic, driven, ambitious businessman who owns the Windmere International Hotels. He’s a powerful guy who’s focused on expanding the business. He sends Holly to seal the deal on the purchase of the Clüsterfünke Inn because he wants to build a resort, golf course and water park. He tells her to get it done – or lose her job.

FLASHPOINT: Aired 10 Years ago today

10 years ago (November 15, 2011) Aaron Douglas guest starred on an episode of FLASHPOINT (4×14: Day Game). I was SO EXCITED when he got this gig because it was one of my favourite tv shows. And he did not disappoint. This was such a great/memorable episode. If you’re a fan of Aaron’s this is a great episode to watch as he is in it pretty much the whole episode. My only complaint was that he didn’t have any scenes with Hugh Dillon. But he made up for that when he played a prison guard alongside Hugh in S3 of THE KILLING.

Starring: Enrico Colantoni, Hugh Dillon, Amy Jo Johnson, David Paetkau, Sergio Di Zio

What a great experience. Enrico is a great man/great actor. I thought it was really cool being up on the score board. Between takes I was singing quietly to myself when @realhughdillon, way down below listening on his headphones, yelled up to me “are you singing Beach Baby?!” 🤣

Aawww man! Sad news.
I remember this scene so vividly. He was so kind and fun.
The off camera banter was even better. 😁
What a treat to have been able to work with him.
He could smoke a cigar like it was a Survivor Challenge. Ha

Thank you @AD_Fans for the photo.

Halloween 2019

This was Halloween 2019 🎃 when I was getting Aaron to play dress up as Gordon Rimmer (from DIRK GENTLY) and Chief Tyrol. Then decided to do both at the same time 🤣 Chief Rimmer? Gordon Tyrol?

A CLÜSTERFÜNKE CHRISTMAS: Airing Dec 4 on Comedy Central

Yay!!! We have an air date for A Clüsterfünke Christmas. December 4, 2021 at 7pm on Comedy Central. This is the movie that Aaron filmed back in July.

Aaron Douglas plays Cornelius Windmere, an energetic, driven, ambitious businessman who owns the Windmere International Hotels. He’s a powerful guy who’s focused on expanding the business. He sends Holly (Vella Lovell) to seal the deal on the purchase of the Clüsterfünke Inn because he wants to build a resort, golf course and water park. He tells her to get it done – or lose her job.

You may recognise Vella Lovell as Heather Davis on ‘Crazy Ex-Girlfriend’. Or more recently as Mikaela Shaw on ‘Mr. Mayor’ with Ted Danson.

The Plague Nerdalogues: Free For All

I don’t think I ever posted about this once they made the videos free……

In May 2020, Marc Bernardin (Tricia Helfer’s BATTLESTAR GALACTICAST co-host) created The Plague Nerdalogues which was a “compilation of fan-favorite actors reenacting classic geek scenes from film and television, all for charity”. A minimum donation of $10 got you access to watch all of the videos. For the first wave of videos the donations went to No Kid Hungry. For the second wave, the donations went to Black Lives Matter. After raising more than $66,000 in total, the videos were made free to access in July 2020.

For his video Aaron did the Narrator from The Road Warrior (aka ‘Mad Max 2’) but with a BSG twist. I won’t spoil it, you’ll have to watch it 😃

The Plague Nerdalogues: Aaron Douglas as Narrator in The Road Warrior

Marc Bernardin (@marcbernardin) July 6, 2020
Over the weekend, http://theplaguenerdalogues.com crossed the $50,000 mark in donations for #BlackLivesMatter. Which just about made me cry. With that milestone reached, I’m dropping donation paywall and the making all the nerd monologues free for everyone to see. We’ve done what we set out to do: Use our love for nerd storytelling to raise money to benefit those who need it. First, @nokidhungry (for whom we raised $16,000), and now #BlackLivesMatter. The plan was always to make ’em free, so now they are. http://theplaguenerdalogues.com

THE PLAGUE NERDALOGUES
Your favorite genre actors. Performing the greatest speeches from genre films and TV. All to benefit Black Lives Matter.

The Plague Nerdalogues began in May 2020 as a way for actors of all stripes to flex their geek muscles during a specific moment in time: The two-pronged assault on the status quo by the coronavirus and the uprising against systemic racism. Those performances — nerd actors doing monologues from beloved nerd media — were used to raise money, first for No Kid Hungry, then for Black Lives Matter.

The intent was always to make these monologues available to the public, free of charge, after a certain amount of time … and so we are.

If you are so moved, feel free to donate to Black Lives Matter, but it is not necessary.

Enjoy.

DIRK GENTLY: Premiered 5 Years ago today

DIRK GENTLY’S HOLISTIC DETECTIVE AGENCY premiered 5 years ago today on October 22, 2016. Gordon Rimmer is my favourite character that Aaron has ever played. Whenever I watch him in something, I can always “see Aaron”, if that makes any sense. But while watching Dirk Gently I totally forget that he is Gordon Rimmer and I love that.

If you’ve never seen the show, please do yourself a favour and check it out. It’s one of those shows that gets better and better with every rewatch, you pick up on so many things you missed the first time around. In the USA it’s available to watch on Hulu. The rest of the world, it’s on Netflix. It’s also available on Amazon Prime and iTunes in some countries.

Photo on the left: In July 2018 I won Gordon Rimmer’s coat and glasses in an online auction and had them shipped to Aaron’s house. Later that year when I was visiting he surprised me by putting on the coat and glasses and did the Gordon Rimmer voice and stayed in character the whole time I was doubled over laughing. Photo on the right: Halloween 2019. BSG vs Dirk Gently. Chief Rimmer? Gordon Tyrol?

10 YEARS TO DEATH: Easter Egg

OH MY FRAKKING GODS!!! How did I miss this easter egg in Aaron’s new first full length graphic novel 10 YEARS TO DEATH? In my defence I was reading the comic proof on my phone and was only checking for typos before it went to print. I don’t have a physical copy yet. But still, no excuse. Well spotted by Chuck Satterlee from Defective Comix Studios via twitter.

10 YEARS TO DEATH: Out Now!!!! (September 29, 2021)

Aaron’s first full length graphic novel 10 YEARS TO DEATH is out now!

There are three different covers available (regular, incentive, signed). If you can’t find it at your local comic book store you can ask them to order it in for you. If you do find it in store please take a photo and post it in the comments section, we would love to see it out in the wild. If you’re interested in a digital version of the comic, you can purchase it from comiXology. With the limited edition ‘signed’ cover, Aaron accidentally signed a bunch of them with “Chief”. I guess out of habit from all the times he’s autographed items at conventions. So if you’re lucky enough to get one of those, you’ve got yourself a collector’s item.

And for anyone that needs it, here is a Comic Shop Locator.

My first full length graphic novel, #10YearsToDeath from @aftershockcomics is out today. Pop into your local comic book store and if they don’t have it, ask them to order it in for you. If you do find it in store please take a photo and tag me in it. I want to see your smiling faces before the terrified faces after you’ve read it. Ha!

There are three different covers available (regular, incentive, signed). I signed 1,000 copies, wound up with a claw for a hand, but a beer helped 😉 And because it is such muscle memory for me to write “Chief” under my signature, more than a few may have gotten that on them.

I’m really excited for everyone to read my story and please post back your thoughts, I’d love to hear them all.

You can purchase a digital version of #10YearsToDeath from comiXology. Link in bio!

Synopsis: The Shawshank Redemption meets The Sixth Sense, inspired by an eerily bone-chilling true story. A newly-hired prison guard, a notorious mass murderer finally incarcerated for his crimes, and the death that binds them together. What happens when the murdered becomes the murderer? A prestige format “One-Shock” featuring top creative talent, 10 YEARS TO DEATH is a horrific, unnerving tale conceived and written by Aaron Douglas (“Chief” from the iconic TV series Battlestar Galactica), and drawn by Cliff Richards (SHOCK, Buffy the Vampire Slayer). Also offered is a signed edition limited to 1000 copies at $19.99 per copy. Each copy will be signed by Battlestar Galactica’s “Chief,” Aaron Douglas.

10 YEARS TO DEATH: Released tomorrow (September 29, 2021)

Aaron’s first full length graphic novel 10 YEARS TO DEATH is being released tomorrow (September 29). If you’re interested in a digital version of the comic, you can purchase it from comiXology. As for where you can purcahse a physical copy, I’m not quite sure. We’ve asked for some guidance and were told “your local comic book store”. But I don’t know, that seems kinda ridiculous to me. Every comic book store in the whole world is going to have Aaron’s comic? I don’t think so. So if anyone knows of a reliable website where someone can purchase physical comics, please post a link to Aaron’s comic in the comments of the Facebook FanPage. Thank you.

UPDATE: If you can’t find Aaron’s comic at your local comic book store you can ask them to order it in for you. There will also be a link to purchase it online from the AfterShock Comics website. I will post that link once Aaron has been advised it has gone live.
