DIRK GENTLY’S HOLISTIC DETECTIVE AGENCY premiered 5 years ago today on October 22, 2016. Gordon Rimmer is my favourite character that Aaron has ever played. Whenever I watch him in something, I can always “see Aaron”, if that makes any sense. But while watching Dirk Gently I totally forget that he is Gordon Rimmer and I love that.
If you’ve never seen the show, please do yourself a favour and check it out. It’s one of those shows that gets better and better with every rewatch, you pick up on so many things you missed the first time around. In the USA it’s available to watch on Hulu. The rest of the world, it’s on Netflix. It’s also available on Amazon Prime and iTunes in some countries.
Photo on the left: In July 2018 I won Gordon Rimmer’s coat and glasses in an online auction and had them shipped to Aaron’s house. Later that year when I was visiting he surprised me by putting on the coat and glasses and did the Gordon Rimmer voice and stayed in character the whole time I was doubled over laughing.
