Thank you all for the wonderful birthday wishes. I always marvel at how many of you still support me with such caring and positivity. I look at the names and there are some from the beginning, others who have come along on the way and new ones every time. You’re all still here and following my career and are amazing to me. I wouldn’t be where I am without you all. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. You’re all very special to me. A special thank you to Michelle, without whom none of this connection would exist. She is truly the best. And every year she surprises me with her thoughtfulness. Although this year I feel she may have ulterior motives. You see, Michelle loves my cooking and will give me a list of things she’d like to try on her visits to the house, and yes, she will be adventurous and try whatever I make at least once (I promise no more tomatillo dishes! Ha), and this year she got me 3 fabulous cook books which I will very much enjoy but something tells me she will also be enjoying…. 🤔🤔🤔 I’m surprised there aren’t book marks at specific pages…. 🤣🤣

20 years ago (August 1, 2002) Aaron guest starred on an episode of BEYOND BELIEF: FACT OR FICTION (4×08: The Flower Jury).
There were 5 short stories per episode and host Jonathan Frakes would ask the audience to guess whether the story was true or false. At the end of the episode he would reveal whether or not each story was fact or fiction.

(1) MOTHERLAND: FORT SALEM – COLONEL JARRETT
Aaron has a recurring role in Season 3. His first episode ‘3×04: Happy Yule!’ will be airing next week on Tuesday July 12 on FREEFORM and then streaming on HULU the following day. SYNOPSIS: Created by Eliot Laurence (who also created “Claws”), “Motherland: Fort Salem” is set in an alternate, present-day America where witches ended their persecution 300 years ago by cutting a deal with the U.S. government to fight for their country. “Motherland: Fort Salem” follows three young women from basic training in combat magic into terrifying and thrilling early deployment. In this world, the traditional roles of gender and power are flipped with women on the front lines, the fight looming and terrorist threats that are strikingly familiar to our world, but with supernatural tactics and weapons.
(2) DOUBLE LIFE – SHELDON ROBERTS
This is a movie that will be airing on Paramount+. No idea when this is going to air but as soon as we find out we’ll let you know. The movie stars Javicia Leslie (Batwoman) and Pascale Hutton (When Calls the Heart). SYNOPSIS: A widow learns from her late husband’s mistress that his death was not an accident, leading the two women to work together to uncover the truth behind the man they both loved.
(3) ????? – OTIS WINTHROP III
This is a tv show that Aaron is currently filming. So it’s all a hush-hush secret, not allowed to say anything about it. Sorry! But I’m very excited that we have something else to look forward to seeing Aaron in.

I have been wanting to tell you for months that Aaron will be in season 3 of MOTHERLAND: FORT SALEM, so that you would have enough time to watch the previous two seasons if you wanted to get caught up. But Aaron was told specifically not to say anything because they had a fun way to announce it planned.
But I’ve just read an interview with Eliot Laurence, the creator and showrunner of MOTHERLAND and he mentions Aaron in the interview (“Aaron Douglas plays a total asshole and has so much fun with it”). So I guess we don’t have to keep it a secret anymore. Yay!!!!
Season 3 premieres tonight (June 21) on Freeform and streams on HULU starting tomorrow. Aaron’s first episode is 3×04 which should be airing July 12. He plays Colonel Jarrett.

20 years ago (June 14, 2002) was Aaron’s 2nd guest appearance on an episode of STARGATE SG-1 (6×02: Redemption – Part 2).
Fun Fact 1: This SG-1 episode was directed by Martin Wood. Martin has been the director on 5 tv shows/movies that Aaron has been in. (1) Stargate SG-1 (2) When Calls the Heart (3) Aurora Teagarden (4) Operation Christmas Drop. And last month they completed filming a movie for Paramount+ titled Double Life.
Fun Fact 2: This SG-1 episode was written by Robert C. Cooper. Robert was an Executive Producer on DIRK GENTLY’S HOLISTIC DETECTIVE AGENCY. Gordon Rimmer in that tv show is one of my most favourite roles Aaron has played. And I guess that Robert was equally as impressed because he asked Aaron to be in his tv show UNSPEAKABLE.

20 years ago (May 14, 2002) was Aaron’s first guest appearance on an episode of SMALLVILLE (1×20: Obscura).
Fun Fact 1: Mark Verheiden wrote this SMALLVILLE episode. Mark would later go on to become a writer and producer on BATTLESTAR GALACTICA.
Fun Fact 2: For Aaron’s character’s surname, IMDb had it listed as Vertigo. The Official Smallville Magazine has Birtigo. The subtitles for the episode has Bertigo. The character was wearing a name tag but it was too hard to make out what it read. So a couple of years ago Aaron (at my request) asked Mark Verheiden to confirm the spelling. Mark the absolute legend still had a copy of the script. It’s actually BIRDEGO. I had the IMDb entry corrected.
