Episode Synopsis: The fleet has found a source of water, but who will take on the difficult and dangerous job of mining it from the icy planet? Commander Adama and President Roslin send Lee to the Astral Queen, a prisoner transport ship, with an offer for its inmates: Volunteer for this mission and earn “freedom points.”

The prisoners not only reject the offer but stage a uprising and hold Lee and his crew hostage. Their leader is Tom Zarek, a freedom fighter convicted of terrorism 20 years earlier. Zarek demands that Roslin step down as president and call for immediate elections to choose a new leader.

While Adama and Roslin organize an assault on the ship, Lee, who read Zarek’s radical manifesto while at college, negotiates with his captor. Back on the Galactica, Adama pressures Baltar to develop a device that can distinguish Cylons from humans.

Many light-years away on Caprica, Sharon and Helo struggle to evade the Cylons, unaware that they are being observed by Doral and Number Six.

GIRLFRIENDS’ GUIDE TO DIVORCE: Aaron’s episode will air January 27, 2015

We now have confirmation (via the BRAVO website, screen cap shown below) that Aaron’s episode of GIRLFRIENDS’ GUIDE TO DIVORCE will air on January 27, 2015 at 10/9c on BRAVO. Although Aaron’s character is not listed in the episode synopsis below (or in any of the promo photos), that is his episode. He will be guest starring in episode 9 (1×09: Rule #32: F-you, Rob Frumpkis!), playing Doug Franklin.

Show Synopsis: Bravo’s first original scripted series, Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce, follows Abby McCarthy (Lisa Edelstein, House), a self-help book author and guru of all things family, who shocks the world when she reveals that her seemingly perfect life has all been a lie. After publicly admitting that she has separated from her husband, Jake (Paul Adelstein, Private Practice), America’s once-favorite girlfriend finds her career and marriage in a free fall. As she starts to navigate life as a single woman in her 40s, Abby turns to her new divorced friends, rather than her married ones, for advice. Her friend Lyla (Janeane Garofalo, Reality Bites) is a legendary no-nonsense entertainment lawyer who is in a constant “War of the Roses” battle with her ex-husband, and Phoebe (Beau Garrett, Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior) is a former model and budding entrepreneur who has a very unique relationship with her ex. When she hires Delia (Necar Zadegan, Emily Owens, MD) as her divorce attorney, Abby’s brother Max (Patrick Heusinger, Royal Pains), who fought hard for the right to marry, questions his sister on how she can so easily decide to walk away from her own marriage. Abby is on a journey of self-discovery as she attempts to salvage her career, get back in the dating game and figure out her new identity as a single woman. As she hits the reset button on her life, she embarks on startling adventures and mishaps along the way, including her first post-marriage hook-up, a blog post gone horribly wrong, and a Vegas trip that leads to some unexpected complications. And, while in the process of trying and failing to have the “perfect divorce,” Abby ultimately questions whether her marriage is worth saving.

iZOMBIE: Premieres March 17th, 2015 on THE CW

We have a premiere date for iZOMBIE. It will debut on March 17th at 9pm following THE FLASH on THE CW. Aaron is guest starring in episode 1×09: Dead Air but I believe it will be airing as episode 1×08. So we should get Aaron’s episode around early May 2015.

The below is from the Televisions Critics Association Winter 2015 Press Tour that was held on January 11, 2015.

iZombie exec producer Rob Thomas acknowledged he “didn’t hew terribly close to the source material” in adapting the DC comic book for CW’s midseason series. Whereas the comic has a “whole monster universe,” he wanted to the show to “stay strictly zombie” because what the producers really wanted was a “case-of-the-week show,” and having a zombie working in a morgue eating corpse brains gave them that vehicle.

The crime procedural centers on Liv (Rose McIver), a medical resident who attended a party that turned into a zombie feeding frenzy. Liv takes a job at the Seattle coroner’s office so she can snack on the brains of the deceased Jane and John Does that turn up at the morgue. Eating their brains, she takes on their thoughts and skills and memories, which helps solve the mystery of their deaths. Presto, crime-of-the-week drama!

Thomas said there was a “lively and lengthy discussion” in the writers room regarding how much of the dead person’s stuff Liv would retain. If she eats the brains of someone who knows karate, will she become a karate expert?

“At the end of the day, it was more fun to say ‘yes’ to those things,” Thomas said. In the pilot, she eats the brains of someone who speaks fluent Romanian.

“I’ve never been more terrified of getting scripts,” McIver said.

Like Thomas’s Veronica Mars, iZombie uses lead-character voiceover to navigate viewers through each episode. A critic challenged him to distinguish Voiceover Liv from Voiceover Veronica.

“Attitude,” Thomas responded quickly. “Veronica was hardened.”

As a result, the Veronica Mars writers went for a “very Raymond Chandler-esque, hard-boiled cynical world view” in that character’s narration. Liv, while a zombie, is “softer” and “sweetness and light” as she discovers “things worth living for” as a zombie.

While other zombies in the show opt to go “under cover” via spray tan and hair dye, Liv remains pasty; critics asked Thomas to justify.

“The reason she does not spray tan or die her hair to look like everyone else is because she will look great on our poster,” Thomas said. “The truth is, it’s for the CW subway poster.”

Another critic wondered why zombies are so ugly on other networks’ zombie shows, but so pretty on CW’s zombie show – answering her own question. Nonetheless, Executive Producer Diane Ruggiero-Wright and Thomas explained it’s a CW show and CW wants them that way.

“We’re calling the show ZILFs,” Thomas joked, picking up on what fans already have been saying.

UPDATE: Just had it clarified by the iZombie writers that Aaron’s episode will air as 108.

THE RETURNED: Premieres March 9th, 2015 on A&E

Aaron’s new tv show THE RETURNED (based on the Emmy Award-winning French series), premieres on March 9th at 10/9c after Bates Motel on A&E.

Below are some highlights from the Televisions Critics Association Winter 2015 Press Tour that was held on January 9, 2015.

The Returned’s executive producers Carlton Cuse and Raelle Tucker emphasized that they weren’t out to fix or amend the French version of the show. “The starting point is similar, but our show becomes quite different around episode 6 where in the French version it becomes quite genre and incident heavy at episode 8,” said Cuse. He further mentioned that the FremantleMedia French series is “working independently on season two currently. Our show going forward will be wholly original.”

Source: Deadline

Based on the French series of the same name, A&E’s new drama series, The Returned, focuses on a small town and what happens when local people who have been dead for while return looking exactly the same as the day they died. The cast includes Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Mark Pellegrino, Jeremy Sisto, India Ennenga, Sandrine Holt, Agnes Bruckner, Sophie Lowe, Tandi Wright, Mat Vairo, Kevin Alejandro, Dylan Kingwell, Aaron Douglas , Dakota Guppy, Leah Gibson, Michelle Forbes, Rhys Ward, Scott Hylands, Terry Chen and Roger Cross.

Here are some highlights from panel:

– Executive producer Carlton Cuse says that even though the show starts off the same as the original series, they diverge on episode 6.

– Cuse said that they didn’t watch ABC’s Resurrection (which also deals with people coming back from the dead), because it wouldn’t be good for their creative process.

– “This show going forward will be wholly original,” Cuse explained because there is only one season of the French series so far and they will not base their series on anything that happens after that.

– Mary Elizabeth Winstead said that everyone reacts differently when something shocking happens, so it’s hard to know what the proper reaction is.

– Even though they didn’t mean to cast actors that looked like the original ones, it just ended up that way a lot of the time.

– When asked why people who have seen the original series should tune in to this one, Cuse explained that they wanted to take something that they would eventually make their own. He also added that there are choices made in terms of what happens at the end of the original series, that do not happen in this version.

– “Always call the police. When in doubt just call the police,”Jeremy Sisto (who plays Peter) joked when asked what he would do if someone he knew came back from the dead.

The Returned premieres Monday, March 9th at 10pm.

#TBT (Throwback Thursday) #30 – January 8, 2015

Back by popular demand (ok, one person asked me about it), I’m starting #TBT (Throwback Thursday) back up again.

#TBT to the time Aaron shaved his head for the BATTLESTAR GALACTICA episode 4×05: The Road Less Traveled (that aired May 2, 2008). I remember when he sent me that photo (the one in the middle). He told me he had shaved his head and asked if I wanted to see. I totally freaked the frak out because I thought it was going to look awful. I opened the email and looked at it through fingers over my eyes (lol) and then it was “oh hells yes!!!” It looked fantastic. I loved it :)

And to make it even more confusing, LES REVENANTS is just called THE RETURNED in English speaking countries. I referred to it as the french title to hopefully not cause any more confusion :)
