UNSPEAKABLE: Aaron’s first episode airs tonight (Jan 30, 2019)

TONIGHT’S THE NIGHT!!!! Aaron’s story arc on UNSPEAKABLE begins with tonight’s episode (1×04: Unsafe), airing Wednesday (January 30, 2019) at 9pm on CBC in Canada.

I’m both excited and apprehensive because these first 3 episodes of UNSPEAKABLE have been so emotional and I’m scared that Jim Krepke (Aaron’s character) may have me reaching for the entire box of Kleenex. He hasn’t made me cry since the BSG episode with Chief and Boomer’s Picon dream house (4×17: Someone to Watch Over Me). You better not make me cry, mister!

UNSPEAKABLE: Premieres tonight (Jan 9, 2018)

REMINDER: Aaron’s new tv series UNSPEAKABLE premieres TONIGHT (Wednesday, January 9) at 9pm on CBC in Canada.

UNSPEAKABLE is an 8-part miniseries based on the true events of the Canadian tainted blood scandal, chronicling the decades long saga of two families impacted by one of the biggest medical disasters in Canada’s history.

Aaron’s character Jim Krepke doesn’t show up until episode 4 but here’s a little teaser to get you excited to watch. Look who has scenes together ….OH MY FRAKKING GODS!!!! It’s Chief Tyrol and Daniel Jackson. This makes my fangirl heart so very happy. #BSG #StargateSG1.

NOTE: UNSPEAKABLE will be airing on SundanceTV in the USA and AMC Studios will manage worldwide distribution outside of Canada but no dates have been released as yet. I’ve heard whispers that it might be airing in April in America. But as soon as hear any official word I’ll let everyone know.

SHOW SYNOPSIS: In the early 1980’s, AIDS emerged and quickly became an epidemic. Those responsible for public safety failed. Thousands died. A second virus, hepatitis C, infected tens of thousands more. People were kept in the dark, afraid to speak out. Ignorance, arrogance, politics and economics all lead to betrayal, to cover-up, to scandal. Unspeakable is told from the perspective of two families caught in a tragedy that gripped a nation, as well as the doctors, nurses, corporations and bureaucracy responsible. The series follows the decades long saga as people struggled to survive, change the system and battle for compensation for those who desperately needed it.

EPISODE SYNOPSIS 1×01: EMERGENCE (1982 – 1983): In 1982, two families, the Sanders (played by Michael Shanks and Sarah Wayne Callies) and the Landrys (played by Shawn Doyle and Camille Sullivan), are badly shaken when they learn that a mysterious deadly disease called AIDS is threatening the blood system. Each has boys with hemophilia, a genetic condition that means they depend on blood products to live. The medical community struggles to understand the growing epidemic while others deny the urgency.

UNSPEAKABLE: Red Carpet Premiere

Tonight there is a screening of the pilot episode of UNSPEAKABLE for the cast and crew. So hopefully there will be some red carpet photos of Aaron taken that I can post. I asked him where it was being held and after I googled the venue I’m thinking “that place looks familiar”. It was used in the BSG episode 1×11: Colonial Day. So now I’m sending him screen caps from the episode saying “get photos of this, get photos of that”. lol.

UNSPEAKABLE: Facebook Page

For those of you in CANADA there is a Facebook page for Aaron’s new tv series UNSPEAKABLE (please see previous posts for the trailer and synopsis). They have geo-blocked the page so that you can’t see it if you’re outside Canada. I’m in Australia so when I click on the link from my phone it just takes me to my news feed. If I do it from my laptop it tells me “Sorry, this content isn’t available right now. The link you followed may have expired, or the page may only be visible to an audience you’re not in”. UGH. Mother Frakkers!!!! They did the same thing with the trailer and geo-blocked it but I found away around that. And I’ll work out the FB situation too so I can share any info.

UPDATE: I found a way around it. I can now get into their “Canada only” Facebook page for UNSPEAKABLE. So I’ll pass on anything posted on there. ~ michelle (admin)

Synopsis: UNSPEAKABLE is inspired by the powerful true story of the Canadian tainted blood scandal.

In the early 1980’s, AIDS emerged and quickly became an epidemic. Those responsible for public safety failed. Thousands died. A second virus, hepatitis, infected tens of thousands more. People were kept in the dark, afraid to speak out. Ignorance, arrogance, politics and economics all lead to betrayal, to cover-up, to scandal. Told from the perspective of two families caught in a tragedy that gripped a nation, doctors, nurses and the corporations and bureaucracy responsible. The series follows the incredible, decades long saga as people struggled to survive, change the system, and battle for compensation for those who desperately needed it. It began as a disease that was nobody’s fault and became a catastrophe. A federal inquiry led to finger pointing and sweeping changes to the blood system. Billions of dollars in reparations were paid. Criminal charges were laid. The repercussions are still being felt today. The worst part is that it was largely preventable. We cannot forget.

Unspeakable is based on emotionally charged personal accounts as well as Andre Picard’s Gift of Death: Confronting Canada’s Tainted Blood Tragedy, Vic Parson’s Bad Blood: The Tragedy of the Canadian Tainted Blood Scandal and the Royal Commission of Inquiry into the Canadian Blood Tragedy lead by Justice Horace Krever.
