Sci Fi Channel 2008 Upfront (Wired.com)

Wired has posted an article and photo from the recent Sci Fi Channel 2008 Upfront event in NYC.

Aaron gets a few mentions in the article ……..

* Aaron Douglas (the Chief) said he made a conscious decision this season to play his character differently when he’s in cylon mode. He’s curious to see if it works on screen.

* Douglas said he hated discovering he was a cylon, especially since he found out by accident three months before he was supposed to. “I was over at ‘someone’s’ house and saw some papers lying around: ‘Oooh outlines for — I gotta go to the bathroom!’ I locked myself in the bathroom and was looking for my material and suddenly, ‘WHAT!?!'” He had to keep the revelation a secret for three months, but he would occasionally go up to Moore and Eick and ask, “So, anything going on with the Chief?”

* When someone from the audience asked Mary McDonnell, who plays President Roslin, if Barack Obama had approached her to be his running mate, she replied that Hillary had. At which point Douglas quipped: “Hillary’s the final cylon.” Badabum!

DAVID LETTERMAN: Airs tonight (March 19, 2008)

Just a reminder that Aaron (along with nine other BSG cast members) will be appearing on tonight’s episode of the Late Show With David Letterman to read the Top 10 List. The episode airs on Wednesday, March 19th, 2008 at 11:35 p.m. ET/PT in the USA.

If you miss the live airing, you’ll be able to watch a video of the top ten on the Late show website.

Edward James Olmos, Mary McDonnell, Katee Sackhoff, Jamie Bamber, Michael Hogan,
Tricia Helfer, Grace Park, James Callis, Lucy Lawless and Aaron Douglas

Maureen Ryan from the Chicago Tribune has posted a sneak peak at what the Top Ten will be.

Top Ten Reasons To Watch The New Season Of “Battlestar Galactica”

10. Chief Petty Officer Tyrol (Aaron Douglas): In the dramatic season opening episode, we save 15% by switching our insurance to Geico.
9. D’Anna Biers (Lucy Lawless): You’ll find out what’s in the hatch and who gets off the island – crap, wrong show.
8. Dr. Baltar (James Callis): My character creates his own line of “honey roasted space nuts.”
7. Lieutenant Sharon Valerii (Grace Park): What else are you going to do, read a book?
6. Number Six (Tricia Helfer): There’s a good chance you’ll get to see me naked.
5. Colonel Saul Tigh (Michael Hogan): There’s a good chance you’ll see me naked.
4. Captain Lee Adama (Jamie Bamber): New FTL drives will allow the colonial fleet to better adjust to gravitational variations and achieve maximum superluminal travel to outrun the pursuing cylon basestars – I don’t know what the hell I’m talking about.
3. Starbuck (Katee Sackhoff): We engage in a life-and-death battle against evil robots… you know, same **** as last year.
2. President Laura Roslin (Mary McDonnell): I take on the most challenging task of my political career – doing a lame top ten list on a third-rate talk show.
1. Admiral William Adama (Edward James Olmos): Watch me lead us into war against the Cylons without an exit strategy.

UPDATE: The video is now up on the Late Show website.

SMALLVILLE: Trailer (????)

Just a reminder that Aaron’s episode of SMALLVILLE (7×14: Traveler) is airing next Thursday (March 20th) in the USA.

Do they have those “next time on Smallville” commercials at the end of the episode? If they do, can someone please watch the end of tonight’s Smallville episode and see if Aaron is in the trailer for next weeks episode? The only reason I ask is because I don’t live in the USA. Otherwise I’d watch for it myself.

FOREST ETHICS: Campaign to stop junk mail

You may remember the GOT WOOD? t-shirt (by forestethics.org) that Aaron wore at DragonCon 2007. Forest Ethics has launched a ‘Do Not Mail’ Campaign to Stop Junk Mail. Aaron along with some other celebrities and nearly 20,000 people have signed the petition. Read more HERE.

Support a Do Not Mail Registry
Just as the Do Not Call Registry freed Americans from telemarketers, a Do Not Mail Registry would give us the choice to stop junk mailers from violating our privacy, wasting our time and damaging the environment. http://www.donotmail.org

Aaron to appear on Late Show With David Letterman (March 19, 2008)

It’s been previously reported that EJO, Jamie Bamber and James Callis will be appearing on Letterman on March 19th to read The Top Ten list.

I’m just watching a video of Aaron’s Q&A at the Dallas All-Con convention last weekend (that lucky63 recorded) and he said …..

“They’re taking the top ten cast to New York in a week and a half to do David Letterman. So we’re all going to be on Letterman. I think it airs the 19th. We’re doing the top ten list. The top ten reasons to watch Battlestar Galactica. Which is very cool. And they’re going to write something for me. But I’m not going to say it. I’m going to say something else [crowd laughs] And then I’ll never do Letterman again. No. I’m just kidding. I’ll say whatever they want”.

OMG!!!!! Aaron is going to be on Letterman!!!!!!
