The QMX Dog Tags have finally been released. These are the dog tags that they have been advertising since December 2006.
The QMX website still has them listed as AVAILABILITY – TBA. The majority of websites are selling them as a set of 7 on pre-order for around USD$104. The only place I’ve found them for sale individually is at Battlestar Online and Forbidden Planet.

UPDATE: I just received the latest QMx Insider email newsletter. They are selling the dog tags individually (or as a set of all seven) to subscribers of their email. Then they will be selling them to the public in “just a few days”.
At the start of the email it reads ……..
“Battlestar Galactica Character Dog Tags These seven screen-accurate dog tags are now available to QMx Insider subscribers and can be purchased either individually or as a set of all seven. Check out the article below for prices and links to buy. These will be going out to the general public in just a few days and we anticipate selling out on many of the individual character tags, so don’t delay!”
Then the following is also in the email newsletter ……

Wired has posted an article and photo from the recent Sci Fi Channel 2008 Upfront event in NYC.
Aaron gets a few mentions in the article ……..
* Aaron Douglas (the Chief) said he made a conscious decision this season to play his character differently when he’s in cylon mode. He’s curious to see if it works on screen.
* Douglas said he hated discovering he was a cylon, especially since he found out by accident three months before he was supposed to. “I was over at ‘someone’s’ house and saw some papers lying around: ‘Oooh outlines for — I gotta go to the bathroom!’ I locked myself in the bathroom and was looking for my material and suddenly, ‘WHAT!?!'” He had to keep the revelation a secret for three months, but he would occasionally go up to Moore and Eick and ask, “So, anything going on with the Chief?”
* When someone from the audience asked Mary McDonnell, who plays President Roslin, if Barack Obama had approached her to be his running mate, she replied that Hillary had. At which point Douglas quipped: “Hillary’s the final cylon.” Badabum!

Maureen Ryan from the Chicago Tribune has posted a sneak peak at what the Top Ten will be.
Top Ten Reasons To Watch The New Season Of “Battlestar Galactica”
10. Chief Petty Officer Tyrol (Aaron Douglas): In the dramatic season opening episode, we save 15% by switching our insurance to Geico.
9. D’Anna Biers (Lucy Lawless): You’ll find out what’s in the hatch and who gets off the island – crap, wrong show.
8. Dr. Baltar (James Callis): My character creates his own line of “honey roasted space nuts.”
7. Lieutenant Sharon Valerii (Grace Park): What else are you going to do, read a book?
6. Number Six (Tricia Helfer): There’s a good chance you’ll get to see me naked.
5. Colonel Saul Tigh (Michael Hogan): There’s a good chance you’ll see me naked.
4. Captain Lee Adama (Jamie Bamber): New FTL drives will allow the colonial fleet to better adjust to gravitational variations and achieve maximum superluminal travel to outrun the pursuing cylon basestars – I don’t know what the hell I’m talking about.
3. Starbuck (Katee Sackhoff): We engage in a life-and-death battle against evil robots… you know, same **** as last year.
2. President Laura Roslin (Mary McDonnell): I take on the most challenging task of my political career – doing a lame top ten list on a third-rate talk show.
1. Admiral William Adama (Edward James Olmos): Watch me lead us into war against the Cylons without an exit strategy.
UPDATE: The video is now up on the Late Show website.
