Chief Tyrol: I like most things I do because they are usually so different. I don’t really get type casted at all and that allows me to do many other things.
Guest stars? Any of the Trek guys would be cool. I will think about that one and get back to you.
I think tyrol will probably go into denial when the truth about Boomer gets out but as all men when it sinks in he will be the one most betrayed and somehow understanding of her ‘I didn’t know’ response. I still think Tyrol should be the one to kill her.
I am reading a lot of James Patterson right now and Douglas Preston. I like the mystery escape. After this I am moving onto some sci-fi. I am just trying to figure out which one.
thanks for the chat and sorry this is so late in getting back to you but I have been away for three weeks.

ElvisLiS: Any rumors about a season 2 yet ( I know hey season one hasnt screened yet but..)
or are they gonna make you all hang again?
Cheers!

Chief Tyrol: Not a clue about season two. Here’s hoping as I have had a great time this year but you never know. I hope we don’t have to wait long.

Colonel McQueen: Tigh had to make a very tough decision to depressurise some compartments of the Galactica to smother the fire on board. The result was a significant loss of life of Chief Tyrol’s crew.
Adama backed Tigh’s decision and indicated it was the right one.
In your view do think Tyrol would come to that realization after time has passed and maybe give a grudging respect for Tigh, or would this be an ongoing issue with Tyrol that will fester?

Spook: This might be a silly question, but I’m going to ask it anyway…
I’m curious about the audition process. Do you usually know what the character you’re auditioning for is like? Or do you just get a bit of a script and are left to make your own mind up accordingly? I suppose I’m really asking whether it’s made clear how the casting people want you to play a role during the audition, and whether you get much preparation time?

Chief Tyrol: Colonel. Good question. I think that Tyrol views Tigh as weak and influenced by his drinking and makes decisions that are made while under the influence. That is what clouds this decision and makes it more interesting to play and watch. It may have been the right decision but Tyrol feels it should have been made by someone less “affected”. Had it been made by Adama I don’t think Tyrol would have objected quite as strenuously. I think for this reason he will never quite forgive Tigh.
Spook. Not a silly question at all. Sometimes you have access to the entire script but often it is just the scene that you are auditioning. You get with the ‘sides’ something that is called a breakdown which is a description of the character and story. I read that, read the scene and I just go with my instincts. I read it out loud the first time to myself and it just comes out how it does. It usually does not deviate too far from that first read. Other actors do completely different things when preparing a scene. You have to realize that the casting people are bringing you in to see what you will do with the role. They like the idea of you and your style in this part so just be yourself and do what you do. That is what they want to see. It sounds simple and in fact is generally is. Many actors over think the audition and what they are going to do in it, but in life we don’t usually think about how a conversation is going or whether or not you picked up the pen when you were supposed to so why do that in an audition? Acting is living truthfully in imagined circumstances.
Be real baby!!

Aaron’s Journal

Welcome to my site. The first one

Date: July 2, 2004
Source: aarondouglas.biz (website is no longer active)

This is my first day writing in my journal and on my website. I would like to thank Lisa for assisting me with this site. She is wonderful and much more computer savvy than I. At present I spend some time at Colonial Fleets and Media Blvd. There people ask me questions and I would like that to take place here as well. I would also like you people to tell me what you would like to see here on this site. I am a real person, I would like to think, and I really do enjoy talking to people and hearing about what they do and why they enjoy the shows they do. So hopefully every week or more I will post a journal entry and keep you up to date with what is going on with me. Hopefully I can get updates of photos regularly as well. I look forward to speaking with you all over the coming years. As a heads up it looks like I will be at Comicon in San Diego as a part of the Battlestar Galactica group for Sci-Fi. If you are looking for me in roles other than BSG I am in The Dead Zone on July 4th, Catwoman, Riddick, Saved, and I,Robot. Some are smallish parts but there are no small parts right? or some crap like that.

Comic Con. One crazy weekend

Source: aarondouglas.biz (website is no longer active)

Hey all. Just got back from Comic Con and I have to tell you that that was one of the craziest most exciting weekends I have ever had in my life. I want to thank everyone who stopped by to say hello and introduce themselves at the Sci-Fi booth. That was my first convention and will not be the last. Great fun. I was nearly assimilated by a Borg but I took a picture with it and it let me go. We are just finishing episode 9 and will be moving on to 10 later this week. I cannot believe how time flies. Before we know it the season will be over. I need some more sleep so I will go now and I will talk to you all soon.

It is freakin’ hot out. Just some ramblings….

Date: August 10, 2004
Source: aarondouglas.biz (website is no longer active)

Another gorgeous day in sunny Vancouver. Had a great dinner with most of the cast, producers, directors, and Sci-Fi big wigs last night. No matter what you hear on the boards Sci-Fi is very supportive of the cast, the show, and everything to do with BSG. I am very proud to be on this show and everyone surrounding it has made that feeling possible. As for the rumors flying around about who will be on what episode you will have to wait and see but never totally discount anything you hear. We begin ep. 11 wednesday the 11th and then we are one month from being done and joining the unemployment lines. Sad days are a comin’. Thanks for all of the questions and I will talk to you soon.

BSG is over. Season one is done

Date: September 20, 2004

Well that is it. Season one is done. A great time with some great learning. Now on to who knows what. I have some irons in the fire and will probably get busy before I know it or really want to but that is OK I guess. We have no idea about season 2 of BSG and will not know until Feb 1/2005 so we have quite a wait. I will let you all know if I hear anything in the meantime. Until then, take care and I will talk to you soon.

Been a while. Just some what is going on news

Date: February 4, 2005
Source: aarondouglas.biz (website is no longer active)

Hey all. Man it has been a while since I have been here. Things are rolling along pretty well. Still waiting to hear from BSG regarding season 2 or not. Hopefully will learn soon. Getting really tired of the hockey lock out. Need to get the boys back playing. My latest film is in theaters. White Noise. Small part in the church at a funeral scene. Just finished shooting the Exorcism of Emily Rose with Campbell Scott and Laura Linney and Tom Wilkinson. Before that had a part in the latest Gina Gershon, Mike Binder, Kal Pen, Ben Afleck movie called Man About Town. Should be good. I will return when I get back from London in a couple of weeks. Attending a BSG convention in Heathrow. Talk to you all soon.

SG-9. Just got back from the UK…

Date: March 2, 2005
Source: aarondouglas.biz (website is no longer active)

Well I just flew back from the UK and a weekend with the BSG fans over there. Met some great people and while I was there got the news that Tyrol is officially coming back for season 2 of BSG. So that was cause for celebration. After the convention I spent a week with my mom travelling around the UK. We went up to Scotland for several days and visited some castles and did some general sight seeing. If you have never been to the UK take some time to go. It is amazing. Even if your ancestors are not originally from there it is a great place with tremendous history. I have some really cool pictures from the convention that I am going to post here. They were taken by some of the attendees and sent to me. I want to say hello and thank you to Sylvia from Germany who made sure I got into as little trouble as possible while I was attending SG-9. She was my liason and is fabulous. That is about it for now and I will be back with some more in a week or two. ciao 4 now.

Happy St. Patricks week. Make it St. Paddy’s week

Date: March 14, 2005
Source: aarondouglas.biz (website is no longer active)

It is the week of St. Patrick. I choose to go with the week of beers rather than just the one day because it is much more fun that way. So enjoy the week whether you are Irish or not. If you are anywhere near a pub that is hosting my friends The Town Pants pop in and say hey for me. They are great guys and a great Irish band. Only two weeks before BSG starts up again so I have to get it all out of my system. Ciao 4 now and chat soon.

Episode one. Just had readthrough….

Date: March 30, 2005
Source: aarondouglas.biz (website is no longer active)

Well we just finished the read through for episodes one and two for season 2 of BSG and it is going to be great. It was very cool to get back with everyone and walk through the sets. We really are quite a cool little family. Shooting begins on March 31st but I am not in until April 12 so I have a couple of weeks to shed my winter pounds. Will keep you all posted. ciao 4 now.

A shout out to Sheppards Air Force Base. just before season two began I went to Las Vegas for my brothers 30th and ran into someone very interesting to me…..

Date: April 21, 2005
Source: aarondouglas.biz (website is no longer active)

Standing in line at one of the bars at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas a week ago I was approached by a young man who told me that I reminded him of someone he knew. At least someone he knew from TV. He said I look like the Chief from a show called Battlestar Galactica. I laughed and said I am the Chief. That was the only time the Chief was recognized the whole weekend. It was kind of nice really. He was a great guy to meet and he told me that on Friday nights he and another guy shut down the shop and go and watch BSG. He then went on to tell me that he is a real life Chief. He is the Chief of the training group that teaches mechanics to work on the F 15. This was a thrill for me. A real life Chief. Very cool. So I want to send a hey to my new friend Chief Chris Holmes and his BSG watching buddy Chief Shane Hall of the TRS training unit at Shepards Air Force Base. Keep up the strong work fellas. Great to meet you Chris and hopefully we will meet again. Take care.

the week that was. well that was a hell episode

Date: May 3, 20005
Source: aarondouglas.biz (website is no longer active)

just finished ep 3 about 2 hours ago. Really long days with really early call times and a lot of running through the rain forest makes for tired people. The whole crew was dying for the weekend and when it came it seemed to last 3 minutes. Sergio directed ep 3 and he is a terrific director so I am excited to see what we came up with. I hope you all are well and that you are visiting the BB and asking whatever you wish to ask. Chat soon.

almost hiatus. gimme a break….

Date: July 12, 2005
Source: aarondouglas.biz (website is no longer active)

it is almost time for a break from season 2. And that means that season 2 is about to air. BSG is going wonderfully well and we are all very excited to see the reaction of the fans. I think that season 2 will be even better than season 1. Other than that looking forward to a small break. I am going to Birmingham England for a convention in August but before that I will be at Gatecon to shake some hands, answer some questions and have some fun. hope to see some of you there. Take care and chat soon.

Hiatus. Done for the year

Source: aarondouglas.biz (website is no longer active)

Well that is season 2 all wrapped up. A great year and a short hiatus. We are coming back in April of 2006 so I know I have a job. Takes the stress off for sure. I will be taking the time to do some other projects and go to some conventions around the world. I know the break will go by in a blink of an eye so I have to make the most of the time. A couple of thanks to people who take great care of me when I am out. Carla and Travis at Studio 54 in Las Vegas. If you are there say hey to them. And to Tim and Della at the Shark Club in Vancouver. If you are ever in Vancouver and there is a big game on you will probably find me there having a pint and screaming at a TV. chat soon all aaron

more news. going to work and playing with my musical friends

Date: February 28, 2006
Source: aarondouglas.biz (website is no longer active)

So I get to go to work today. No, not BSG. A Canadian show called Whistler. Just a one episode guest star. The character is Lance and he is an obnoxious rich poker player staying at the hotel giving the concierge a hard time. Sound like fun? I think so. Nick Lea of X-Files and many other things is one of the main leads. A great guy so it will be fun to hang with him for a couple of days. Look it up and watch for it. For you Canadians. And I am doing a small part on the new Pierce Brosnan film called Butterfly on a Wheel. That comes out in the fall I think. So there is your update. BSG has pushed till April 10th. As we all know the Chief is back, thank you for your letter writing campaign….. ha So I have another month to grow my hair….. Ooooops was that out loud? Please pop over to a few friends websites and tell them I sent you. First, Sam Witwer who played Crashdown has just released his first CD. The Crashtones. It is really great. samwitwer.com Second, My good friends The Town Pants. For those of you who have seen me at conventions and I have been with the DJ’s late night these are the lads I put on. Great Irish drinking music. thetownpants.com. Third, for my country music loving American friends go check out my little sister. Joey Daniels. She has just released her first CD and she is getting airplay all over the US and her CD is available at Best Buy. joeydaniels.com See if you can spot me in the liner notes. The family is obviously very proud of our little girl. Thanks for the support and we shall chat soon. aaron
