Just a reminder that the series premier of HELLCATS airs tonight (Wed, Sept 8th, 2010) at 9/8c on the CW in the USA.
In Canada it premieres tonight (Sept 8th) at 9pm ET on /A\ and on Friday (Sept 10th) at 8pm ET on MuchMusic. It also airs at 10pm AT on /A\ Atlantic and 8pm MT on ACCESS. In Australia, Hellcats premieres on Monday, Sept 13th at 7.30pm on the GO! channel. Sorry, I don’t know when it is premiering in other countries. If you know, leave a comment and I’ll edit this post and add it in.
Aaron plays William ‘Bill’ Marsh. Bill is the head of the Lancer University’s athletic department.
I know that Aaron is in the 2nd episode of Hellcats but I don’t know if he is in the pilot episode (it was filmed before he joined the cast). An article on ‘examiner.com’ says he is not in the pilot episode … “Also, while not introduced in the first episode, the series will feature Gale Harold, Aaron Douglas, and D.B. Woodside”. But an article on ‘Cinema Blend’ says he is in it … “Random side-note: Fans of Battlestar Galactica who might somehow also take an interest in this show (I did, so there have to be a few others out there), will recognize Aaron Douglas (Chief Tyrol in BSG) as Bill. And for Buffy the Vampire Slayer and/or 24 fans, D.B. Woodside (Principal Wood/Wayne Palmer) is also among Hellcats’ cast. Spoiler alert: Neither of them cheer (at least not in the first episode).” I suspect that maybe Aaron filmed a scene(s) when he was filming the 2nd episode and that was slotted into the already filmed pilot episode (????).
You guys in the USA and Canada will get to watch the episode before I do (I’m in Australia). Can someone please leave a comment and let me know if Aaron is in the pilot episode or not? Or I could just ask him about it. But that takes the fun out of playing ‘spot Aaron’ :)
UPDATE: Aaron is in the episode. The A.V. Club did a review of the pilot episode and wrote … “Aaron Douglas shows up in a small part halfway through the episode”.
HELLCATS – Episode Synopsis – 1×01: A World Full of Strangers – Marti Perkins (Alyson Michalka), a law student at Lancer University, discovers that her scholarship has been cancelled and her well-meaning but irresponsible mother, Wanda (Gail O’Grady) has neglected to inform her. Broke and out of options, Marti realizes the only way she can stay in school is to win a place on the Hellcats – Lancer’s legendary cheer squad – and the scholarship that comes with it. Despite a confrontation with the Hellcats peppy team captain, Savannah (Ashley Tisdale), Marti wins over coach Vanessa Lodge (Sharon Leal), makes the squad and is thrust into a competitive world unlike anything she has ever known. With her best friend Dan (Matt Barr) by her side, Marti navigates her new world as a cheerleader and Savannah’s new roommate, while trying to avoid any interaction with squad member Alice Verdura (Heather Hemmens), who is instantly jealous when she realizes that Marti has caught the eye of Alice’s ex-boyfriend Lewis Flynn (Robbie Jones). Allan Arkush directed the episode written by Kevin Murphy.
