The movie DOUBLE LIFE that Aaron filmed back in May 2022 is out TOMORROW (May 5, 2023) in select US theatres and on digital. And it will be available ‘on demand’ May 19. I can see it on Apple TV, iTunes and VUDU for $14.99. That seems a little pricey so I might wait to see if the price goes down. I’m not sure where you can watch it on demand on May 19. Aaron was told during filming that it would be on Paramount+ but I can find any articles specifically saying that’s where you can watch it. So I guess that’s a wait-and-see. If anyone sees it available anywhere else, please let me know in the comments.
SYNOPSIS: A grieving widow learns from her late husband’s mistress that his death was no accident. The two women will form an unlikely alliance to uncover the truth behind his murder and unmask the man they both loved.
The movie stars Pascale Hutton (When Calls the Heart) as the widow, Javicia Leslie (Batwoman) as the mistress and Niall Matter as the late husband. Aaron plays Sheldon Roberts who is a District Attorney and the boss of Niall’s character. Vincent Gale and Carmen Moore are also in the movie. Vincent played Chief Laird, the Pegasus deck chief. Carmen played Sister Tivenan in episode 10 of ‘The Resistance’ webisodes. She performed the baptism of baby Nicky.
FUN FACT: One of the female leads was originally supposed to be played by Tricia Helfer. The day before, Aaron told me he was going to be on a zoom call with the director (Martin Wood) and the other cast members for a table read. The next morning I was watching Tricia’s instagram stories and she said she was about to get on a zoom call to do a table read. And my brain is thinking “wait! what? Aaron is also about to get on a zoom call to do a table read”. So I’m thinking to myself “wouldn’t that be funny if it was the same movie? But surely it’s not. Tricia lives in Atlanta now”. After the zoom call, Aaron sends me a screenshot from the zoom call and Tricia was on it. OMG, Chief and Six in a movie together!!! But then Tricia injured her leg (if you follow her on instagram she’s talked about her injury and she sometimes still wears a knee brace) and had to pull out of the movie. Tricia was replaced by Pascale Hutton from WHEN CALLS THE HEART.
Below is a screenshot that Aaron took during the zoom call (April 22, 2022). None of the actors knew who the other cast members on the movie were going to be until the table read via a zoom call. So it was a surprise for both Aaron and Tricia Helfer to see each other. Unfortunately Tricia had to back out of doing the movie because of an injury. Pascale Hutton replaced her.
