Synopsis: This hard-hitting BC-based crime thriller with a supernatural twist is about confronting one’s demons, and choosing what path to follow in life as a result. Reclusive young fisherman William Brook searches for his missing sister in the rugged Pacific Northwest. After giving false testimony in his parents’ murder trial ten years earlier and sending an innocent local Chief to jail, Brook is far from welcome in the town. His path collides with Detective Ivy Seymour’s investigation into the deaths of over 30 local women. When the body of William’s sister Sarah’s roommate is discovered in a gruesome state in the forest, fears that a serial killer may be working the area begin to take hold. After the detective saves William from a brutal beating, the two join forces to track Sarah down before it is too late. As the likelihood of finding his sister alive diminishes, William must confront his past and make amends with the First Nations people whose Chief he betrayed in order to find his own inner peace.

Born in Yellowknife, director Nicholas Treeshin relocated to Vancouver to pursue a career as a lifestyle and documentary filmmaker. THUNDERBIRD is his first feature film.

Synopsis: On the coast of the Pacific Northwest, William Brook lives a reclusive life on a halibut fishing boat. When informed of his troubled sister Sarah’s disappearance, he’s overcome with guilt. Feeling awful for neglecting her over the years, Will heads into town, but it’s a very dangerous place for him. When Will’s parents were found murdered ten years ago, his false testimony sent a local Chief to prison. Ever since, the tension between him and the First-Nations community has escalated and every night he’s haunted by the same reoccurring nightmare. While asking questions in town, Will is cornered and attacked, but he’s saved when the compassionate Chief George intervenes. Meanwhile, after a six-month suspension, Detective Ivy Seymour is reinstated only to discover that her next case may be the one that breaks her. The number of missing women in the area is growing at an alarming rate and Seymour is sent to the latest tragedy. Deep in the forest, a body is found. An amputated leg, a head entirely encased in red wax; no one’s seen anything like it. The body turns out to be Sarah’s old roommate, and Seymour’s investigation points to the possibility of a serial killer in the area. After Ivy saves Will from a brutal beating, the two of them work together to find Sarah. Desperate to find his sister before it’s too late, Will must confront his family’s shameful past, make amends with the First Nations people and finally face his demons.

NOTE: This movie is NOT what I was hinting at the other day when I said that Aaron will be back on our tv screens in December. Aaron signed an NDA so he’s still trying to find out if we can announce it. But stay tuned because I may just end up dropping some very obvious hints as to what it is 😉
