Hey all.

Due to blah blah blah frakking blah I will not be attending the VoldemortCon this weekend.

I am filming a movie an hour outside of Ottawa and I pleaded with them to move my dates so I could fly all the way back home, drive to Seattle and have 3 days with you at that con then drive back to Vancouver and fly back to Ottawa and continue filming on Monday.

The film was wonderful enough to accommodate me and so it was with great frustration that my extra two flights, my four extra hours in a car to the Ottawa airport and back, etc. was going to go to waste because I was cancelled from the con. Now I would fly home, sit there for 2 days and fly back when I could have just stayed and skipped the extra 14 hours travelling.

Yes.. boo hoo actor boy.. first world problems….

Regardless, I don’t want to waste these days and this back to Vancouver trip and most importantly I don’t want to miss all of you who have spend time, money (in many cases a great deal of it), energy and passion in the hopes of meeting some of the BSG cast and talking about the show.

So, I am going to get up early on Friday, drive to Seattle, throw my stuff in a hotel I found downtown (Shocking that hey? An available hotel room downtown Seattle…?) and start what I call

#FindChief

Which is a bit of a misnomer because I am going to tweet exactly where I am and for how long.

The purpose of this is, hopefully, to give back to some of the people who have been disappointed in not being able to meet many of the BSG cast they were hoping to, drink some amazing local pints in some fantastic Seattle pubs and breweries (yay day drinking!) and if we make a little money for charity along the way, great!

I am going to bring some pictures, copies of a book I contributed to and maybe some other fun stuff and I am happy to sign all of these things and whatever else you want to bring.

I am NOT charging for anything. No fees for autographs, no fees for pictures with, nothing. If you want to bring your own camera and get a really quality shot please do.

I am gently suggesting a small donation to the charities I am raising money for, as I do at most conventions. If you cannot afford it, if you don’t like the charities, or you simply do not wish to donate I have ZERO problem with that and you will have your stuff signed and pictures taken and you’ll hear my silly/idiotic stories from set just like everyone else. There are no “sales” going on with this, you have all spent bloody well enough on this con, both in actually money and in mental anguish.

I will have my friend Michelle with me during our crawl who will be in charge of the donations (unfortunately cash only) leaving me free to be an idiot with you.

Nicki Clyne will also not be attending the con but is flying in on Saturday for a day of signing at Arcane Comics. I have spoken to Nicki and we have come up with a silly idea that we think you might like. During our crawl I will take pictures at specific locations with you and without you and we will frame the shots so we leave a place for her. She will then take a picture of herself in that spot, framed on the other side and then we will mesh them together so we have a picture will all of us. Well.. I thought it funny at least…

I am making every effort to make the locations all ages during the day so I can meet all of the “Nuggets” out there but if for some reason we land on a place that is 21 plus and you have your little ones in tow please come in, get me and I will pop out for a sidewalk visit.

I am also aiming to keep everything downtown Seattle, walking distance or at least a very short cab or bus ride. Again, we have all spent enough, we don’t need to be taking taxi’s to the suburbs at great cost, although there are some amazing pubs in the burbs and a few have generously reached out so I think we may have to do this again in a few months but in Tacoma or Renton. Also, there is to be NO drinking and driving. If you’re out for pints with me and you hop in your car to go to the next stop I will personally kick you in the junk, call you names (not silly ones either) and ban you from the pub. There’s my dad rant for this post.

Schedule:

Pike Place Brewing-1415 1st Ave, Seattle, WA 98101- has generously offered to keep their front area open for us to begin our crawl. So that’s what we’re going to do

11:30 am (depending on how quickly I can get through the border, to my hotel and there) and we will stay there until 1:30 or 2 pm.

From there it will be a short jaunt up to the Elephant and Castle-1415 5th Avenue, Seattle, WA 98101- where we shall be silly until 4 or 4:30.

After that is still up in the air but I wanted to get this out so people can start making plans.

The tentative plans for post E&C is to pop by the pub at the EMP, they have given us space from 4-6 but I am still working those details out and am undecided as to whether it is too close to the actual VC but I will leave that to you good people.

As for night’s end Plaza Garibaldi has offered us a spot with them for some late night karaoke…. I mean, what’s a con without karaoke right? Right Nicki?

The time between possibly EMP and Garibaldi is still TBD.

And we can always improvise and take suggestions from those in the group as to “where to next?”

If you have suggestions now please tweet them to me or post them here and they will find their way to me. If you own or run a place and you’d like to be on our list please let me know.

All I am looking for is some good beers, some good food and some great laughs.
Not sure where this will take us but this is to begin.

I will tweet regularly to keep everyone in the loop as to where we are and when we will be going to the next place.

So gather your things to be signed or just come for a pint, some food and some laughs. I will tell many stories along the way so it’ll be like a 12 hour panel, the longest of my life.

One more thing. Don’t be a Dick. If you’re a Dick my boy Garth will make sure you don’t stay with the group. I know I don’t really have to say this as we are sci-fi fans and sci-fi fans are the best at including everyone and being sweet to each other (unless you say STNG was better than Deep Space 9….Or Starbuck isn’t be a girl!…..uuugghhh I’ve started it haven’t I?) so I am not worried but it needs to be said.

I am really looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow and I am hoping this will be a blast and make up for the short comings of VoldemortCon…
